An “Alameda” is a simple line of poplars that may grow naturally along the banks of a river or intentionally to guide a pathway or a park. The Chilean countryside enjoys these lines of trees and their shade acts as a stage for the most varied recreational activities, including dances, religious festivities, competitions and excursions.
